Travel to Brazil

Hello,

A forum search has brought up numerous threads about Brazil and other emerging markets but how about travel? Has anybody been to Brazil recently? I'm looking to visit Rio de Janeiro this winter (summer for them) and hope some people have tips or experiences with that area.
